Assemble This! A Festival About Building and Making

Join us for a weekend of building and creating during Assemble This! Experience three days of building, tinkering, fiddling, and creating as we transform the museum into a makers mecca. Families can work together to make their own creations that they can take home, show-off and cherish until long after Memorial Day.

Card Collecting & Gaming

Every two weeks, we meet up at Watchtower Cafe to trade all sorts of collector’s cards. Regulars bring Topps Star Wars, Magic: The Gathering, Official Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), and more! This event is for both adults and kids. Bring your friends, too!
Even if you aren’t a collector, join us for a cup of coffee, and watch the excitement around you!
We’ve had some recent interest in Garbage Pail Kids and Dice Masters. If you’ve got another card collection or card game to add to our list, please post in the event about it!
2017 Summer Reading Challenge Kick Off Party

Build a Better World at our annual Summer Reading Challenge Kick Off Party!
Attractions include: performers, face painting, live shows, exhibits and booths, a movie and more!
At dusk (between 8:45-9 pm), West Jordan – City Hall is screening “Moana” in the park just outside. Bring your blankets and a picnic for a full evening of entertainment.

Join us at NHMU on Saturday, June 3 for all things bugs. We will have hands-on activities for kids, specimens on display from the collection, resident experts available to answer questions, and lectures from leading researchers on the tiny creatures that run the world.
Speakers will include Dr. Jack Longino, a professor of biology at the University of Utah, who has more than 30 years of experience working in the rainforests of Central America, leading expeditions, and conducting research on insect diversity.
Bug Fest is presented in partnership with Community Faces of Utah.
Included in Museum admission, free to members and University of Utah faculty, staff, and students with a current U ID.
Fan Con and Food Truck Rally

Fan Con is back and bigger than ever. Experience fan-centric panels on popular television and anime. Enjoy the laugh fest of the Absoludicrous Utah Improv Troupe. Test your cosplay skills in our cosplay contest. Participate in legendary crafts and action-packed games on the lawn. Meet local artists Chris Bodily, Romina Jones, Steve Stones and Vanessa Colunga. Interact with the Utah LEGO Users Group and get Zombified by the Paul Mitchell School. Bring your wallet to sample local food trucks such as Bruges Waffle Bus, Cupbop Korean BBQ in a Cup, HeidiCakes, Pizza Cone Zone, The Toasted Cheeser and The Roasted Pleaser. Purchase mementos from local vendors such as Gamers Asylum, Booked on 25th and Tangents and Tentacles. Create lasting memories with the Sideshow Photo Booth. Don’t forget your cape and goggles. !
Utah Scottish Festival and Highland Games

With one more day of heart-thumping competitions and foot-tapping entertainment, the 2017 Utah Scottish Festival is set to be our best festival yet!
Festival Hours are:
Friday June 9th 5pm – 9pm
Saturday June 10th 9am – 9pm
Sunday June 11th 9am – 5pm
This year’s entertainment will feature festival favorites Men of Worth, Molly’s Revenge, & the Wicked Tinkers! All three will be featured in the concert on Friday night.
The festival will also feature piping competitions, dancing competitions, and heavy athletics.
We will have clans, vendors, and children’s activities.
Ticket prices will remain the same. $15 for adults, $10 for Seniors & Teens 12 – 18 years old. Children 11 and younger are free.
Tickets will be good for the entire weekend.
Pre-sale tickets are only $10 and are available through May 25. After this date, ticketw will only be available at the event.
